Your brake calipers are components of the braking system that clamp down on the brake discs to slow or stop your vehicle. They are typically made of cast iron or aluminium, and they have pistons that move hydraulically to apply pressure to the discs. High-end supercars such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati often have a choice of racing colours with some custom options also available. Over time the pistons in the caliper can become worn or damaged due to wear and tear and this can prevent the caliper from applying the correct amount of pressure to the brake discs resulting in decreased stopping power.
